Planning Board
Chairman: John Desmarais
Members: George Pozzuto, Rodney Young, Mickey Miller, & Dave Hickey
The Planning Board meets on the FIRST Thursday of every month at 6:00pm.
DO YOU NEED TO SEE THE PLANNING BOARD?
1. Are you dividing land to sell, lease, or rent? If yes, this is a subdivision. Milan has Subdivision Regulations and the Planning Board handles the process.
2. Are you building or renovating a non-residential building? Or building a multi-family home (more than 2 apartments)? If yes, this requires review by the Planning Board under Milan's Site Plan Review process. The Planning Board will review your plans and its impact to the neighborhood; such things as appropriate space for proposed activity, parking, traffic flow, lighting, and landscaping will be considered.
Copies of the regulations and applications are available anytime at the town office.
Zoning Board
Chairman: Christy Langlois
Members: Ernie Miner, Rodney Young, Michael T. Lavoie, Linda Lamirande
The Zoning Board meets on the THIRD Thursday of every month at 7:00pm.
DO YOU NEED TO SEE THE ZONING BOARD?
1. Are you building anything besides a house or related building? If yes, you may need to seek a Special Exception. Milan's Zoning Ordinance currently only allows farms and residences; anything else requires a review by the Zoning Board. If you are unclear, then it is always best to check with the Zoning Board for their interpretation of the Ordinance.
2. Do your building plans differ than those requirements outlined in the Zoning Ordinance (i.e. lot size, setbacks)? Has the Building Inspector denied your application based upon these details? If yes, you may seek a Variance from the Zoining Board of Adjustments. The Board will listen to your proposal, compare it to the State Law Standards, and render a decision.
Copies of the Zoning Ordinance and applications are available anytime at the town office or click on the link below.
